Alt Jazz Ark Repertoire
The material played by the Alt Jazz Ark has been developed date by date.
Each rehearsal or recording session we work on advancing our repertoire, either by adding new material, or reworking existing material.
Many of our works have been through as many as a half dozen editions, each time getting closer to the peak proportions.
For the moment, we have setlists for our dates.
Shelter In Place, Two
During 2020, Alt Jazz Ark was following shelter in place guidelines, so our approach to creating was adapted to working remotely, each of us recording ourselves playing to a reference track.
These reference tracks are based on the written parts, converted through MIDI and imported into a DAW.
Each musician recorded their part and sent the results. Then, we stitch them together, and evaluate the result.
